Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Robert Arciero of UConn Health

Robert Arciero, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Farmington, Conn.-based UConn Health.

At UConn Health, Dr. Arciero is a professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, chief of the Sports Medicine Division and director of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. 

 

Dr. Arciero has earned several accolades, including the Albert Trillat Award from the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He has been named Educator of the Year by the

American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and a Top Doctor in the Greater Hartford Area by Hartford Magazine. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Army for 20 years. 

 

A graduate of Allegany, N.Y.-based St. Bonaventure University, Dr. Arciero earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. After completing a residency in orthopedics at

Tacoma, Wash.-based Madigan Army Medical Center, he undertook a sports medicine fellowship at the U.S. Military Academy/Keller Army Hospital in West Point, N.Y.
