Dr. C. Thomas Hopkins to speak at Valdosta State commencement

C. Thomas Hopkins Jr., MD, will deliver the keynote at the Valdosta (Ga.) State University fall 2017 commencement, Dec. 9.

Here are five highlights:

1. Dr. Hopkins serves as Atlanta-based University System of Georgia's board of regents' chairman.

2. He also treats patients as a partner at OrthoGeorgia in Griffin.

3. Dr. Hopkins is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.

4. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter squadron flight surgeon and orthopedic surgeon.

5. He completed his residency at Atlanta-based Emory University.
