Children's Hospital of Orange County names Dr. Lucy Morizio orthopedic institute director: 5 takeaways

Children's Hospital of Orange County in California named Lucy Morizio, MD, director of CHOC Children's Orthopaedic Institute, effective Oct. 22, 2017.

Here are five takeaways:

 

1. As director, Dr. Morizio will partner with CHOC leadership to accomplish the institute's strategic and operational goals.

 

2. Dr. Morizio will lead efforts in developing the institute as a destination location for pediatric orthopedic services.

 

3. Dr. Morizio joined CHOC in 2016. Prior to joining the hospital, she had a private practice while working with the California's Newborn Screening Program for 16 years.

 

4. CHOC is ranked among the best children's hospitals for orthopedics by the U.S. New & World Report in 2017-18.

 

5. CHOC is the only children's hospital in California to earn the Gold Level California Awards for Performance Excellence Award from the California Council of Excellence.
