UbiCare awarded for Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement: 5 highlights

The New England Society for Healthcare Communications awarded UbiCare a Gold Lamplighter Award for its Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement.

Here are five highlights.


1. The CJR holds orthopedic hospitals financially accountable for satisfaction and outcomes following knee and hip replacement surgery.


2. Specifically, the CJR campaign looks at how patient engagement targeted to specific points in the episode of care can be used to lower readmission rates and increase patient satisfaction after joint replacement surgery.


3. Patients who are education about their post-care instructions are 30 percent less likely to be readmitted.


4. UbiCare's SmarteXp engagement solution empowers hospitals to guide and track patients through their surgical care episodes by push email and text messaging.


5. With text message and email interaction, patients reduce their length of stay up to 17 percent and the hospital generates $421,000 worth of new revenue.
