Dr. Jose Toro joins Orange Regional Medical Center: 5 key notes

Orthopedic surgeon Jose B. Toro, MD, joined Orange Regional Medical Center, according to a Hudson Valley News Network report.

 

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Toro previously served as director of fracture and orthopedic trauma service at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, N.Y., a position he took in 2014.

 

2. Dr. Toro joined Orange Regional's trauma department and is an associate member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association.

 

3. After completing his medical degree at Xavier University School of Medicine in Colombia, Dr. Toro underwent an orthopedic surgery residency at Saint Ignatius Hospital and a fellowship in metabolic bone disease and orthopedic trauma at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

 

4. Early in his career, Dr. Toro practiced at Weill Cornell Medical College and VA Medical Center in the Bronx as well as Jacobi Medical Center.

 

5. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Toro is a reviewer for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and associate editor for The American Journal of Orthopedics.
