Dr. Kevin Stone to speak at biologic joint replacement conference in Moscow — 5 observations

Kevin R. Stone, MD, of San Francisco-based The Stone Clinic, plans to teach at the Moscow International Osteotomy Congress later this month.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Stone will teach Russian physicians how to use biologic materials instead of metal and plastic in joint replacements.

 

2. Dr. Stone will also cover the following issues in other sessions:

 

  • The biologic future of joint replacement and its benefits
  • How doctors can use biologic materials
  • The future of artificial knee replacements
  • The use of pig ligaments in human ACL surgery
  • Stem cells and growth factors to accelerate healing

 

3. Dr. Stone holds over 40 U.S. patents on healthcare-improving inventions.

 

4. He utilizes stem cells and other biologic techniques to treat joints and potentially avoid artificial joint replacement.

 

5. The conference will take place from April 20 to April 21.
