Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Timothy N. Ghattas of OrthoAtlanta

Timothy N. Ghattas, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoAtlanta, a practice with 12 locations throughout Georgia. He specializes in sports medicine, with a special interest in treating ankle, knee and shoulder conditions.

Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Ghattas serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor of surgery at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. He has visited various local colleges and high schools to present on anatomy, orthopedic conditions and sports injuries, and his research has been published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He holds memberships with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Sports Medicine, among other professional societies.

 

Dr. Ghattas earned his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in Bryan. He went on to complete a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Kansas City-based University of Kansas School of Medicine and a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Atlanta-based Emory University.
