Palestine (Texas) Regional Medical Center welcomed orthopedic surgeon Steven Johnson, DO, to its team, according to Palestine-Herald Press.

Here are five quick facts:

 

1. Dr. Johnson specializes in sports medicine.

 

2. He started seeing patients at PRMC on Aug. 1.

 

3. Dr. Johnson underwent medical training at Des Moines (Iowa) University's College of Osteopathic Medicine and then underwent his residency at St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, Mich.

 

4. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Detroit Medical Center.

 

5. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopeadic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and American Osteopathic Association.
