Dr. Danny K. Corbitt retires from Orthopedic Associates of Flower Mound: 4 things to know

Orthopedic Associates of Flower Mound — a practice with locations in Flower Mound, Texas, and Lewisville, Texas— recently announced the retirement of shoulder surgeon Danny K. Corbitt, MD, according to The Cross Timbers Gazette.

Here are four things to know about Dr. Corbitt:


1. While earning his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, he was honored with the school's Gold-Headed Cane Award. This award celebrates a graduating medical student who shows passion for patient care, academic excellence and community service.


2. He has maintained this focus on community service throughout his career. From 2005 to 2015, Dr. Corbitt provided free pediatric orthopedic care to low-income populations.


3. For 25 years, he served as the team doctor for Marcus High School's athletes in Flower Mound.


4. During his retirement, Dr. Corbitt plans to teach anatomy classes to students at local medical schools.
