Patient sues Midwest Sports Medicine, alleges negligence in hip surgery: 5 notes

A female patient is suing her former orthopedic surgeon and the orthopedic group where she received care over alleged negligence during her 2013 hip surgery, according to the Cook County Record.

1. The patient is suing the Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based practice Midwest Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgical Specialists and her former physician.

 

2. She filed the complaint in Cook County Circuit Court earlier this month.

 

3. She alleges that a Birmingham implant was used in her left hip surgery, despite her medical profile indicating that the implant would be hazardous to her health.

 

4. She alleges that she has sustained permanent injuries as a result of this surgery.

 

5. She requests a trial by jury and judgment exceeding $100,000.
