Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists provides $250k for Quinnipiac University: 4 key points

Orthopedic

Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists — an orthopedic group with offices located in Hamden, New Haven and other cities in Connecticut — has announced a partnership with Quinnipiac University's School of Medicine in North Haven, Conn.

Here are four key points:

1. The orthopedic group will provide $250,000 over five years to support the school's scholarships. Some of these funds will also be allocated toward attracting new students to the program.

2. Outside of this scholarship fund, COS will provide support by bringing orthopedic surgeons and other providers to the school, to teach seminars and to instruct students in labs.

3. These physicians will also mentor students who are conducting honors research.

4. COS says this agreement is the next step in its long-term commitment to Quinnipiac University. COS has also provided support to the university's School of Health Sciences and David Cohen, MD — an orthopedic surgeon at COS — serves as the team doctor for many of the university's athletic teams.
