Tennova opens new orthopedics unit at Turkey Creek Medical Center: 4 thoughts

Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn., recently opened its new Tennova Center for Orthopedics, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. Here is what you need to know. 

1. The center will perform a variety of surgeries but will focus mostly on total hip replacement and partial and total knee replacement surgeries. It offers advanced, minimally invasive and rapid-recovery surgical techniques.

2. The center is a 13,000 square foot facility that has 13 beds with private patient rooms for overnight guests additionally there is a group therapy room.

3. The staff members of the new facility were trained and specifically chosen for the unit because of their "expertise, positive attitude and motivational skills."

4. The center is going to incorporate a movie night in the therapy room for some of the recovering patients, and will offer a VIP menu for a patient's first meal post surgery.
