Robert LaPrade, MD, PhD, attended the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Research Capitol Hill Day on April 14.

1. Dr. LaPrade visited Capitol Hill to raise awareness about the debilitating and costly musculoskeletal disorders affecting millions of Americans.
2. He, along with other advocacy teams, urged Congress to appropriate $34.5 billion in the 2017 fiscal year to the National Institutes of Health and to support the Next Generation Researchers Act.
3. The Next Generation Researchers Act aims to build opportunities for new researchers, and invest in the future of research, science and innovation.
4. Dr. LaPrade is CMO of the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colo.
5. He is an esteemed orthopedic surgeon, with numerous research awards under his belt including the OREF Clinical Research Award.
