Carilion Clinic to open Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences — 4 highlights

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Va., will open its new Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences, according to The Roanoke Times.

Here are four highlights:


1. This opening is furthering the clinic's goal of not just keeping local patients from seeking advanced care elsewhere, but attracting patients from outside the region.


2. About 250 people will work at the facility, including 37 orthopedic surgeons and eight neurosurgeons.


3. The building includes 125 patient exam rooms, nine procedural rooms and eight diagnostic imaging rooms.


4. The new institute is set to open on Mon., Jan. 25, 2016.
