Regional Hospital of Scranton recognized for orthopedic care — 4 highlights

Regional Hospital of Scranton (Pa.) was awarded the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for its orthopedic care, according to The Times-Tribune.

 

Here are four highlights:

 

1. The award was given for the hospital's hip fracture certification.

 

2. Regional Hospital is the first and only hospital in the state to receive all four commission awards for orthopedic care.

 

3. In addition to hip fracture care, the Joint Commission certified Regional for hip replacement, knee replacement and shoulder replacement.

 

4. The Joint Commission is a national nonprofit that accredits about 21,000 healthcare organizations.
