AAHKS appoints Dr. Chris Dangles AMA delegate: 5 things to know

Chris J. Dangles, MD, was named to the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons delegate to the American Medical Association.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Dangles:


1. Dr. Dangles practices with Orthopedic & Sports Enhancement Center in Bloomington, Ill., an affiliate of Advocate BroMenn.


2. He has a special interest in total joint replacement and revision hip and knee surgeries. He has been board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery since 1981.


3. Dr. Dangles earned his medical degree at Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Maywood, Ill., and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He also underwent an orthopedic oncology residency at Sloan Kettering Institute in New York.


4. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Illinois State Medical Society. He is a trustee for the society's eighth district.


5. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Dangle is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois in Champaign and bikes more than 5,000 miles annually
