Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Sanjeev Kakar of Mayo Clinic

Sanjeev Kakar, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., as well as editor of American Society for Surgery of the Hand Update on Tumors for 2016 and editor of the e-book Tumors of the Hand and Upper Extremity.

Dr. Kakar treats all conditions affecting the hand, wrist and forearm at the Mayo Clinic. His research interests include ligament injuries of the wrist, fracture care, arthritis, tumors and cancers and Dupuytren's disease. In addition, Dr. Kakar received the 2012 Research Award from AO North America and the 2011 Research Award from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

 

Dr. Kakar received his medical degree from St. Bartholomew's and The Royal London School of Medicine & Dentistry and received his MBA from Babson College in Babson Park, Mass. Dr. Kakar also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery from Boston University School of Medicine and completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship with the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.
