Dr. Thomas A. Einhorn joins NYU: 5 things to know

Thomas A. Einhorn, MD, was appointed director of clinical and transitional research development for New York University Langone's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Einhorn and his new position, according to a release:

 

1. Dr. Einhorn will oversee the translational and clinical research efforts of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

2. Dr. Einhorn was also appointed professor of orthopedic surgery at NYU School of Medicine and will see patients at NYU Langone's Center for Musculoskeletal Care.

 

3. In addition to his new positions at NYU, Dr. Einhorn is the principal investigator of a research project titled "Hip Fracture Evaluation Alternatives of Total Hip vs. Hemi-arthroplasty."

 

4. Recently, Dr. Einhorn served as chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at Boston Medical Center and professor of orthopedic surgery, biochemistry and   biomedical engineering at the Boston University School of Medicine.

 

5. Dr. Einhorn received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. He completed his residency at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center and Columbia University in New York City, and his post-doctoral fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
