Cullman Regional Medical Center in Alabama now participates in the American Joint Replacement Registry.
Here are five things to know:
- CRMC is owned by the Health Care Authority of Cullman County and employs over 10 physicians in a 145-bed facility.
- The AJRR is a data center on total joint replacement procedures throughout the United States.
- The goal of the AJRR is to monitor devices through a recipient's lifetime and trace revision rates in a database, along with physician and patient information. Data will identify poor implants and match patients, procedures and devices.
- CRCM is now one of two hospitals in Alabama that are participating in the registry.
- Daniel J. Berry, MD, Chair of the AJRR Board of Directors, believes registries have proven effective in improving outcomes and reducing surgical complications.
