Cullman Regional Medical Center in Alabama now participates in the American Joint Replacement Registry.

Here are five things to know:

  1. CRMC is owned by the Health Care Authority of Cullman County and employs over 10 physicians in a 145-bed facility.
  2. The AJRR is a data center on total joint replacement procedures throughout the United States.
  3. The goal of the AJRR is to monitor devices through a recipient's lifetime and trace revision rates in a database, along with physician and patient information. Data will identify poor implants and match patients, procedures and devices.
  4. CRCM is now one of two hospitals in Alabama that are participating in the registry.
  5. Daniel J. Berry, MD, Chair of the AJRR Board of Directors, believes registries have proven effective in improving outcomes and reducing surgical complications.
