Grand Junction, Colo.-based Intermountain Health Rocky Mountain Orthopedics has launched RAPID ortho service, a same-day care option for patients with orthopedic injuries, according to an April 17 report by ABC affiliate KJCT News.
RAPID, short for rapid access to precision injury diagnosis, is designed to treat conditions such as sprains, strains, fractures and sports-related injuries without requiring an urgent care or emergency department visit.
The service offers on-site X-ray imaging, casting and splinting, allowing many patients to be evaluated and treated in one visit. In some cases, patients requiring surgery may be scheduled as soon as the next day.
The clinic treats adults and children and accepts walk-ins or same-day scheduling Monday through Saturday.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
