Hudson Regional Hospital names Dr. Robert Kayal musculoskeletal chief: 4 details

Hudson Regional Hospital named Robert Kayal, MD, as the chief of the musculoskeletal department.

Four things to know:

1. The Secaucus, N.J.-based hospital is a two-year-old institution that provides orthopedic and minimally invasive robotic surgery.

2. Dr. Kayal is the president and CEO of Kayal Orthopaedic Center, which includes 31 providers and partners with Hudson Regional Hospital.

3. The orthopedic team will use the Mako Surgical robotic system for partial and total joint replacements, as well as the ExcelsiusGPS robotic system for spine surgery. It will also provide arthroscopy, spinal fusion and hip preservation procedures.

4. Dr. Kayal focuses his practice on partial and total joint replacements and sports medicine. He uses customized patient specific implants in his procedures.
