Collin Ball, DPM, is one of only a few surgeons in Kentucky performing ankle replacement surgery using the INBONE system, according to The News Journal.

1. Dr. Ball is a podiatric surgeon with KentuckyOne Health Orthopedic Associates.

 

2. The INBONE Total Ankle System procedure involves removing the arthritic portions of the ankle and replacing them with a polyethylene component that serves as a tray to hold the top piece of the ankle with a titanium dome on top that allows free range of motion.

 

3. A “post” is implanted in one of the leg bones for support.

 

4. Dr. Ball earned his medical degree from Kent State University Medical School in Independence, Ohio, and completed his residency at the University of Louisville at the Norton Hospital System.
