Here are three things to know:
1. Before pursuing his medical career, Dr. LeBlanc played professional soccer with the Southwest Indoor Soccer League.
2. Dr. LeBlanc earned his medical degree from Des Moines (Iowa) University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at North Shore LIJ Hospital in New York City. He also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
3. Dr. LeBlanc opened his own practice in Arcata, Calif., North Coast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, where he performed surgeries on shoulders, knees, ankles and elbows as well as arthroscopy. He recently closed his practice in Arcata before accepting the position with Blue Mountain Hospital.
