Frisbie Memorial offers ConforMIS implant for knee replacements — 4 notes

Frisbie Memorial Hospital, located in Rochester, N.H., is the first hospital in its area to offer the ConforMIS implant for knee replacements, according to Seacoastonline.

Here are four notes:

 

1. Moby Parsons, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Seacoast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, performed seven total knee replacements using 3D printing technology within the last two months.

 

2. ConforMIS is presently going through FDA approval for hip joint replacements.

 

3. A recent study revealed one in five patients with a total knee replacement is not satisfied with the result.

 

4. The 3D technology is unique to the patient and results in a shorter recovery time.
