Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. M. Jonathan Mathers of OrthoAtlanta

M. Jonathan Mathers, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at OrthoAtlanta. Dr. Mathers specializes in sports medicine as well as advanced arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Georgia Orthopaedic Society and Medical Association of Georgia.

Dr. Mathers earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C., and went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center and Shriners’ Hospital in South Carolina.

 

After completing his residency, Dr. Mathers completed his sports medicine fellowship at Baylor University School of Medicine in Houston. While completing his fellowship, he served as the assistant team physician for the MLB Houston Astrors, NFL Houston Texans and the University of Houston Cougars.
