The Joint Center at Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb, Ill., hosted a physician and team from the Hospital for Joint Replacement Coxa in Tampere, Finland, according to Daily Chronicle.

1. Kishwaukee Hospital is now a part of Chicago-based Northwestern Mediicne.

 

2. The hospital’s staff discussed best practices and the latest evidence in joint replacement surgery with the Finland physicians.

 

3. Stryker Perfomance Solutions gave the Joint Center at Kishwaukee Hospital “Premier Site” status for its successes in performance improvement, safety, quality and patient satisfaction.

 

4. The Joint Center discharges 95 percent of its patients directly home and to outpatient physical therapy the day following surgery. The center has a patient satisfaction rate of more than 90 percent.

 

5. Finland’s Hospital for Joint Replacement Coxa is the largest joint replacement hospital in Western Europe.
