4 notes on ACAC’s physician-referred exercise program

The ACAC has developed a program, Physician Referred Exercise Program, advocating for patients to integrate exercise into their treatment plan, according to ABC News.

Here are four notes:

 

1. ACAC designed p.r.e.p nearly 12 year ago and has gained traction as more physicians embrace exercise as a mode of treatment.

 

2. Patients partaking in p.r.e.p must have a signed physician referral.

 

3. Studies confirm that increasing activity under a physician’s supervision can control or reverse a range of conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.

 

4. ACAC states p.r.e.p may be covered through insurance as preventative care or through some companies. If not, the course costs $60 for 60 days.
