Here are five notes:
1. The Ride for a Reason tour is an annual motorcycle fundraising challenge supporting multiple sclerosis.
2. The Multiple Sclerosis 5000 runs April 1 through May 20.
3. The fundraiser was started by endurance biker Paul Pelland, who was diagnosed in 2005 with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis.
4. Dr. Charette will ride a minimum of 5,000 miles in 50 days across the country. He is also planning a motorcycle trip to Lexington, Ky., and Nashville, Tenn., as a part of his travel.
5. Dr. Charette earned his medical degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine in Canada.
