Cookeville Regional honors Dr. Sam Barnes — 3 quick notes

Cookeville (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center awarded retired orthopedic surgeon Sam Barnes, MD, the Fred H. Roberson award at the center’s board of trustees meeting, according to the Herald-Citizen.

Here are three quick notes:

 

1. Dr. Barnes is a member of the Tennessee state board of medical examiners.

 

2. Currently, Dr. Barnes works with the Power of Putnam anti-drug coalition to help educate Putnam County, Tenn., residents on opioid addiction.

 

3. Dr. Barnes earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and completed residencies at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and the Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco.
