HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital hosts free ‘Shriners Orthopedic Screening Clinic:’ 4 notes

The Highland, Ill.-based HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital will host a free walk-in orthopedic screening clinic Saturday, Sept. 17, according to the Belleville News-Democrat. The free clinic is called the “Shriners Orthopedic Screening Clinic.”

Here’s what you need to know:

 

1. The clinic is open to children under the age of 18. The hospital’s goal is to help parents identify if their child has an orthopedic condition.

 

2. Children will not receive a diagnosis at the free clinic. However, if necessary, they will be referred to seek additional treatment at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

 

3. Children may be referred to Shriners Hospitals for Children for scoliosis, hip problems or bowed legs, among other conditions.

 

4. Shriners Hospitals for Children is a healthcare system encompassing 22 hospitals throughout the United States. The Illinois location is based in Chicago.
