How orthopedic surgeon pay stacks against other surgeons

The average annual wage for orthopedic surgeons is more than $40,000 than the average annual compensation for all other surgeons.

Orthopedic surgeons have a mean annual salary of $378,250, compared to $343,990 for all other surgeons.

Salary data for surgeons is from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The agency released updated compensation data April 3 to reflect 2023 information.
