Hospital for Special Surgery names chief of Sports Medicine Institute

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery named Riley Williams, MD, chief of the Sports Medicine Institute, effective March 1.

Dr. Williams succeeds Andrew Pearle, MD, who held the role since 2019, according to a Feb. 25 news release. In the role, Dr. Williams will lead a team of more than 60 physicians across HSS locations in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Florida.

Dr. Williams earned his medical degree at Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine and completed his residency at HSS.
