The Irvine, Calif.-based Hoag Orthopedic Institute received a 2016 Pinnacle of Excellence Award and a 2016 Guardian of Excellence Award from South Bend, Ind.-based Press Ganey Associates.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top healthcare organizations on the basis of achievement and high levels of excellence concerning patient experience. The Guardian of Excellence is for those organizations that maintain a level of excellence in the 95th percentile or higher.

2. Interim CEO Carlos Prietto, MD, said the recognition was an honor and added that the awards were an affirmation of the good work the organization is doing.

3. Press Ganey CEO Patrick Ryan said the Hoag Institute is “transforming the industry standard” with their levels of patient care.
