Surgical Planning Associates has expanded the implant library of its HipInsight System, a 3D preoperative planning platform for hip replacement procedures.
The company added five implant systems from Enovis, Maxx Orthopedics, MicroPort Orthopedics, Smith+Nephew and Zimmer Biomet, bringing the platform’s library to more than 35 implant systems, according to a Nov. 3 news release.
The expansion allows orthopedic surgeons to use a broader selection of femoral and acetabular implants when developing patient-specific surgical plans for primary and revision total hip replacements. The system’s open-platform design enables surgeons to plan procedures using implants from multiple manufacturers.
The company also plans to showcase enhancements to its Smart Fluoro technology, which helps surgeons verify implant positioning against preoperative 3D plans, at the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ annual meeting Nov. 6-7.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
