Green Bay Packers promotes new head team physician

Michael Ryan, MD, was named head team physician of the Green Bay Packers NFL team, according to an Oct. 9 news release.

Dr. Ryan has worked as an assistant team physician since 2023. Before working with the Packers, he was a partner with Birmingham-based Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.

He specializes in sports medicine and has expertise in hip, knee and shoulder care. Dr. Ryan earned his medical degree at the University of Georgetown School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and completed his residency at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
