Globus Medical acquired Higgs Boson Health, a digital healthcare experience company conceived and developed at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University, according to an Aug. 26 news release.
Higgs Boson’s software developers and AI scientists will join Globus Medical, according to an Aug. 26 press release. Globus Medical said that the company’s technology will become part of Globus Medical’s surgical intelligence operations.
Globus Medical said the acquisition aims to expand its digital healthcare capabilities for patients and providers. The company has a goal of achieving 95% good outcomes at 10 years for all musculoskeletal surgeries.
Globus Medical operates across spine, orthopedic trauma, joint reconstruction, biomaterials and enabling technologies. Financial terms of the acquisition were not provided.
