Wellstar Paulding Medical Center in Hiram, Ga., has introduced robotic technology to enhance precision in total hip, total knee and partial knee replacements.

The system uses 3D modeling, preoperative CT scans and real-time feedback to guide implant placement and protect surrounding tissue. Wellstar orthopedic surgeon Sameer Badarudeen, MD, was the first to use the platform and said it enables a personalized approach to joint replacement, according to a Feb. 23 news release.

The system allows for smaller incisions and faster recovery.
