Mr. Maragos suffered a knee injury Oct. 12, 2017, and was diagnosed at Rothman with a “torn right knee posterior cruciate ligament,” the report said. James Bradley, MD, who is also named in the lawsuit, operated on the then NFL player’s knee.
Mr. Maragos’ lawsuit alleges that the medical team allowed him to advance his activities after the surgery, even though an MRI showed his knee wasn’t improving. This allegedly led to “undue stress” on Mr. Maragos’ knee and a premature end to his football career.
The lawsuit went to trial Jan. 30, the report said. Rothman didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
