Former Horizon CEO gifts Rush $8.25M for orthopedic research

Tim Walbert, former CEO of biopharmaceutical company Horizon Therapeutics, and his wife, Keli Walbert, have donated $8.25 million to Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center’s orthopedics department.

The gift will focus on new discoveries that restore mobility and alleviate pain, according to a Nov. 27 LinkedIn post from the health system. 

The Walberts’ gift honors Brian Forsythe, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and researcher at Rush.
