Emergency care at St. Francis will transfer to Thomas Memorial Hospital, which is just about seven miles away. Both hospitals are affiliates of Morgantown-based West Virginia University Health System.

Thomas Health System became a full member of West Virginia University Health System in November. Establishing the orthopedic hospital is part of their partnership, and it will have comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
