Drs. Samer Attar, Michael Goldberger & more: 6 orthopedic surgeons performing volunteer work

Here are six orthopedic surgeons who recently made headlines for their dedication to community service.

Michael Goldberger, MD, a foot and ankle surgeon from Morristown, N.J.-based Tri-County Orthopedics, provided shoes and medical care to some of New Jersey’s homeless.

 

Miguel Pirela-Cruz, MD, and other team members of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso went on a mission trip to Guatemala to provide children with free hand surgery.

 

Samer Attar, MD, shared a story about his volunteer work in Syria with NPR.

 

Simon Lee, MD, Johnny Lin, MD, and Kamran Hamid, MD, ankle surgeons from Chicago’s Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, along with a group of orthopedic residents, physician assistants and medical students went to Chicago’s west side to provide shoes and medical care to the homeless.
