Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon (Tenn.) Medical Director of Orthopedics Jon Cornelius, MD, performed the first robotic-assisted total knee replacement operation in the state.

 

Orthopedic surgeon Brendan J. MacKay, MD, of Lubbock-based Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center will be included in the upcoming publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.

 

Jason Cox, DO, of Athens, Ohio-based Holzer Clinic will be included in The Leading Physicians in the World.

 

The Leading Physicians of the World will include orthopedic surgeon Niyat I. Ilksen Gurkan, MD, of Cheyenne, Va.-based Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

 

Modernizing Medicine Medical Director of Orthopedics Jason Weisstein, MD, will present the best methods orthopedic practices may use to address merit-based incentive payment systems at AAOE’s upcoming annual meeting.

Christopher Blair, DO, joined Lindsborg (Kan.) Community Hospital.

 

Liberal, Kan.-based Southwest Medical Center added Pingal Desai, MD, to its staff.

 

James Andrews, MD, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute performed surgery on Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Clay Buchholz after meeting with him earlier this week. 

 

James E. Gilbert, MD, of Silver Spring, Md.-based Metro Orthopaedics and Sports Therapy was named a 2017 Top Doctor in Silver Spring.

 

David Geier, MD, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.-based Sports Medicine Specialists of Charleston spoke about effectively utilizing social media in high end practices.
