Dr. Kissin completed the procedure using Zimmer Biomet’s Persona IQ device on a male patient July 11. The implant is used for total knee replacements and wirelessly sends data about a patient’s movement and recovery.
“The Persona IQ represents an exciting development in knee replacement technology,” Dr. Kissin said in the report. “Physicians can use the collected data to monitor how patients are doing after their knee replacement, as well as for research that will improve future knee replacement procedures.”
