Rosella Gray has been a nurse for 20 years, working with Lewes, Del.-based Beebe for the last five, and she received the first surgery in the new facility.
Wilson Choy, MD, performed surgery on Ms. Gray’s knee, making her the first patient at the new $124 million, state-of-the art facility.
Ms. Gray got a chance to tour the facility a few months before its opening but wasn’t expecting to receive a call with an offer to be the first patient.
“I was really happy, really proud to be the first patient,” she told the Cape Gazette on July 12.
This was Ms. Gray’s second knee surgery performed by Dr. Choy.
“Dr. Choy is great because he is easy to talk to, he listens and he is very skilled,” said Ms. Gray.
