The hip replacement was done at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., according to a news release. The Actera system has a tri-taper stem design and has a range of sizes and angles.

“Conformis’ addition of a tri-taper stem design enables surgeons to treat a broader range of patient anatomies and the shorter length options offer easier access to the femur while maintaining the fixation and integrity required for long term success of the implant,” Dr. Kurtz said in the release.

Actera will roll out in a full commercial launch in 2023.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
