Dr. Werner Brooks wins physician of the year award

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Werner Brooks, MD, won the Physician of the Year award at the Hendersonville, N.C.-based Pardee Hospital Foundation’s annual gala, reports Hendersonville Lightning.

1. Dr. Brooks specializes in general orthopedic surgery, knee and shoulder surgery, sports medicine and total joint replacements.

2. He is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, North Carolina Medical Society and the Henderson County Medical Society.

3. Dr. Brooks earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

4. He has been practicing at Pardee Hospital since 1998.
