Dr. Walter Stanwood joins American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons: 5 things to know

Walter Stanwood, MD, was elected to the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, according to a report from The Old Colony Memorial.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Stanwood:

 

1. He has practiced orthopedics for 13 years at Duxbury at Plymouth Bay Orthopedic Associates.

 

2. Dr. Stanwood is a member of the Massachusetts Orthopedic Association, Massachusetts Orthopedic Surgeons and American Medical Society.

 

3. He has a special interest in shoulder and elbow joint replacement, sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He is MAKOplasty certified.

 

4. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Stanwood conducts research and has published articles in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

 

5. Dr. Stanwood earned his medical degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in shoulder, elbow and sports medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
