Dr. Thomas Lynch operates on Javier Báez

Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Báez had hip surgery, the Detroit Free Press reported Sept. 4.

The MLB’s head team physician Thomas Lynch, MD, performed an arthroscopic procedure on his left hip, the report said.

Mr. Báez was ruled out for the remainder of the 2024 MLB season, and it is unclear when he will play again.
