The Orthopaedic Trauma Association has installed Thomas Higgins, MD, as its next president.
Dr. Higgins previously served as a member on the OTA board of directors, OTA secretary, annual meeting program chair and as a member of the program and education committees, according to an Oct. 16 news release from the organization.
He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters, with his primary area of research interest being tibial plateau fractures.
Dr. Higgins is also a professor and chief of orthopedic Trauma surgery at the University of Utah, the release said.
