Dr. Hickernell specializes in treating orthopedic and degenerative conditions of the hip and knee and is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.
He has a special interest in researching methods of maintaining pain control while reducing opioid consumption.
Dr. Hickernell graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.
Following medical school, Dr. Hickernell completed both an orthopedic surgery residency and a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, also in New York City.
